About the Uncharted Team

Our team is a mixed bag of veterinarians, vet techs, practice managers, and tech-nerds with decades of experience in and out of veterinary practice. We love applying our knowledge to create everything you see at Uncharted and help Uncharted Members find their unique paths in veterinary medicine, just like we did!

Whether we are developing innovative training tools and games, facilitating meaningful discussions, or engaging with the wider veterinary profession, we each have a unique set of skills to serve our Community and help veterinary professionals improve their veterinary careers.

To give you an idea of who we are, we all agree that dad jokes and saying "yes, and" are essential parts of our company culture. Learn more about us below!

Meet Dr. Andy Roark
He created Uncharted for people just like you...

Andy is the Founder of Uncharted, captaining the ship with his golden doodle Skipper by his side. He started the Uncharted Veterinary Conference in 2017 and has since led the vision from an idea for a hundred people into:

- A business hosting 4-5 events a year serving a variety of roles in our profession

- Working with thousands of veterinary leaders to give them foundational skills to succeed

- Even making training tools and games. Some of which you’ll find here, and some on his pages (we just launched a trivia game this year - that was a fun project!).

Andy is a tenured speaker and dedicated contributor to the veterinary profession. He has received the NAVC Practice Management Speaker of the Year award, WVC Practice Management Educator of the Year award, Veterinarian of the Year Award from the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians.

Meet Stephanie Goss
Our Community Builder and podcast cohost...

Stephanie Goss is the many-nicknamed co-host of the Uncharted Podcast and a true community champion. She’s passionate about making our online space the go-to place for veterinary professionals who are ready to grow in a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment. Stephanie is:
- A seasoned practice manager
- A speaker on important management topics
- A budding cat collector. (She’s up to three, and we can’t wait to see them all make an appearance on Zoom!)

Meet Ron Sosa
The Uncharted Executive Director

Meet Ron Sosa, CVPM, the best dancer at Uncharted (he first proved his skills during our 2020 virtual conference, and he’s been a staple ever since).
Ron is a certified veterinary practice manager and our Executive Director, the guy who turns all our crazy ideas into reality. Before joining Uncharted in 2022, Ron was a practice owner in Arizona. Now, he’s all about making things happen for us—and for you.

You’ll often find him:
- On LinkedIn sharing his knowledge on neurodiversity in vet med
- Serving on multiple veterinary industry panels
- Chatting about financials in the Uncharted Community
- Working in local practices!
- Collecting even more certifications

Meet Maria Pirita
The Sponsorship & Management Queen

Maria Pirita, CVPM and manifestor extraordinaire is our sponsorship and business development coordinator. She brings amazing partners into our community in a way that feels authentically Uncharted. She makes sure that sponsors know exactly how important their skills and expertise are to our Community!

When Maria’s not busy lighting up our team meetings, you might find her:
- Speaking at events like the AVMA Conference on management topics (think one-on-ones and conflict management)
- Creating content for her fellow practice managers on social media
- Telling us about the latest Disney news
- Volunteering to help people experiencing homelessness in the Tampa Bay area

Meet Tyler Grogan
The Uncharted Creative Marketing Director

Tyler Grogan is a CVT and writes most of what you read on the Uncharted channels! She brings the story of Uncharted to life and shares with the world why Uncharted Veterinary Conference is a career-changing place to be.

She started out as a founding Uncharted Member and now works with the team to curate Uncharted events and resources. You may also find her:
- Speaking at conferences like CVMA about queue management and creating great experiences for clients, patients and veterinary teams
- Cheering on Uncharted members in the monthly Community Newsletters
- Exploring the world, #unplugged

Meet Kelsey Carpenter
The Multitalented Maven

Kelsey Carpenter is the best! *imagine that in song form*

Many of you know Kelsey as the @VetTechKelsey, social media singer extraordinaire (did you see her duet with Trusten Moore?), but we also get the awesome opportunity to work with her here at Uncharted! She is an active voice in the vet tech community and you can find her:
- Advocating for vet techs
- Running social media
- Sharing her experiences at Uncharted events (like the 2024 Team Leads Summit!)

She keeps us all in line, oh, and also makes up some pretty amazing games that you all may have in your clinics right now. Hey, did you spill something on your scrub top? ;)

Meet Shell Keith
Our Community Manager

Say hi to our Community manager Shell Keith! Shell was a practice manager for ___ years and for a while a traveling mom of 2 kids. She has since become the go-to person for our members to get their questions answered about their Uncharted experience.

Meet Dustin Bays
The A/V Hero

Dustin Bays is the man behind the Uncharted Podcast. He makes sure every episode is edited to perfection and also has been known to jump in and create video projects with us! You may have seen our fun Halloween episode over at the Cone of Shame Podcast.

Dustin brings all kinds of creative ideas to the Uncharted Team, and we are always excited to see what he will come up with next!
